Position Summary
The World Resources Institute (WRI) Beijing Office is seeking highly self-motivated students to be research intern for the Sustainable Transition Center. The term of internship will be at least three months, preferably six months. Onsite/online/hybrid work mode is acceptable with on-time deliverables of high quality. Interns are required to work at least 3 days a week and upon request. The intern will support climate adaptation research, best practices of climate adaptation, climate adaptation finance, and outreach support to the Sustainable Transition Center in China.
Responsibilities
1. Research (60%)
Regularly update countries and regional climate adaptation policies and subnational climate, energy, economics and social policies as needed
Dedicate in desk research, gather, and interpret data, and execute analysis to translate into meaningful insights.
Draft summary and report regarding the insights of data and policy.
Present and report your findings to team members.
Support other research activities per requests.
2. Administrative and translation affairs (40%)
Assist in event preparation and related materials
Provide administrative support per request of team members.
Qualifications
Enrolled in graduate student with a degree in Environment, Economics and Public Policy related majors; undergraduate (at least Junior) students with outstanding performance are also acceptable
Familiar with climate change policies and issues is preferred
Experience of participating in relevant research and project is preferred
Good written and oral communication skills in both Chinese and English
A high level of self-motivation, independence and commitment
Response to request in a timely manner
Ability to work independently with little supervision
